• Question: How can we change the way we use energy on a daily basis that would help to make a contrubition towards the reduction of global warming

      Thanks for your question. Our energy system is usually broadly broken into the electricity, heat and transport sectors. I guess on a daily basis the best things people can do would be the simple things like turning off lights when not needed, not boiling full kettles if you only need a cup and try not to reboil kettles. This would reduce our electricity use. For heating, again if possible to turn down the temperature of the heating system and try to use it only if needed and for transport to cycle walk or use public transport. These would reduce the amount of energy we use. Something else we can do on a long term is trying to change the types of energy we use. So when buying a car if people can afford to buy an electric car, change the heating type from open fires to stoves or if able to connect to the gas grid instead of using oil or insulate homes.
