      Yep, strictly speaking there is no such thing as cold, just a lack of heat (thermal) energy. Thermal energy is the movement of particles or atoms in a substance. We know the absolute coldest something can be is -273.15 degrees Celsius because this is the point at which atoms no longer have enough energy to move.
