• Question: What is your opinion on nuclear fusion? Do you think it is worth using in the future?

      If the scientists that are working on fusion get it to work I guess it is worth using; however, if they do not do it soon, the energy system is already working towards a renewable future and if they get it working too late we might not need it if our system is already carbon-free and if it is expensive.

      I agree with @Emma … One of the main issues with nuclear energy is the storage/management of the wastes that it generates… They are dangerous to life and thus the technology involves unnecessary risks, if other forms of energy can eventually be organised in a way that can supply for our needs.

      I think nuclear fusion is awesome! If we can get it to work it will transform our energy system. The big problem is that we aren’t even 100% it’s possible on Earth.

      If they can get it to work it will be a lot different than the nuclear power plants we have today, which run on nuclear fission. They would be safe and produce almost no waste.
