• Question: how is cancer caused

      I am no expert in this but it is caused when there is a change in the DNA that makes up a cell (gene mutation),

      Normal cells in our bodies know when to stop growing, when to divide into new cells and when to die (natural and healthy processes).
      In a cancer cell, a mutation in the genes can cause them to grow without stopping, to divide uncontrollably and in some cases they don’t die.
      Gene mutations can happen naturally but are also caused by factors like smoking, poor diet, cancer-causing chemicals and others.
