As our bodies are made up mostly of water we need water to make sure we can function properly. One reason for the need for water is in our bloodstream we have oxygen and the more hydrated we are the more oxygen is available for us.

Water is an excellent solvent. This means it dissolves other substances, making it ideal for transporting nutrients around the body and allowing biochemical reactions to take place.
Water also helps with temperature control, excretion of waste and lubrication of moving parts.
