• Question: Why do volcanoes erupt?

      An eruption happens in a volcano when the gas bubbles in the magma or the liquid rock expands. When it expands it causes pressure to build. If the pressure is large enough then it can push on weak spots in the earth’s surface and causes the magma to leave the volcano.
