• Question: Will humans be able to stop river and sea pollution and how?

      I believe if we continue using as much plastics as we do without disposing of it correctly and allow different fertilizers into our rivers we won’t be able to stop it. However, hopefully by recycling, reducing our use of plastics and general rubbish, and educating people on the danger of pollution in our rivers and seas we may be able to reduce it, but with rising populations, I don’t think we will ever be able to stop it completely.

      I agree with @Emma. Apart from the role of the public and people, governments also need to create strict control tools and laws so that, for instance, wastewater is correctly managed, treated and ecosystems repaired. Some of the work will consist in recovering water sources that have been extensively damaged… This is particularly critical in cities that have grown too fast without expanding to the appropriate measure the capacity of wastewater treatment facilities: I just to live in Bogota, Colombia, a city of ~10 million people, whose river is greatly contaminated and plants are currently in capacity to treat less than half the river waters…
